The Urban Orchards Program is a greening and food production program that works with local groups to plant, maintain, and harvest fruit- and nut-bearing trees, shrubs, and vines on urban land. The program brings people together to work towards more ecologically sustainable neighborhoods, to protect the environment, and to share the fruit – all of which build stronger communities.

The Outdoor Classrooms Program provides hands-on environmental education to elementary and middle school students by utilizing schoolyard orchards and gardens. The program connects children to the natural world while making science exciting and relevant.

The Urban Wilds Program partners with the Boston Parks Department as well as volunteer and neighborhood groups to ecologically restore the 39 city-owned natural areas after decades of abuse and neglect. The program connects people to the wilds through volunteer service projects, educational events, and neighborhood involvement.

The Setback Tree Project began as a one-year pilot program focused in Jamaica Plain, MA. The program now works with businesses and individuals in four Boston neighborhoods to plant trees on private property near public right of ways for communal benefits, such as shade and street beautification.
