“It is always wonderful to see what we accomplish during our projects. We really feel like we make a difference by improving the land and beautifying the urban wilds.”
– Matt Lynde, Boston Cares

Earthworks depends on volunteers for much of the work in its programs. Volunteers contribute more than 2,000 hours each year. Volunteer groups help plant, mulch, prune, and harvest from the fruit trees in our orchards and plant and care for the future canopy trees of Boston's urban forest. Individual volunteers can help in the office with administrative tasks and care of our tree stock.

We regularly host groups from many different types of organizations. Recently we have worked with volunteer groups of all types, including Boston Cares, City Year, People Making a Difference, Friends of Iroquois Woods, Boston Returned Peace Corps Volunteers, Harvard School of Design, Tufts FOCUS, Boston College, Boston University FYSOP, International Buddhist Peace Fellowship, Charles River Associates, 4H, Fidelity Cares After Five, Young Alumni Volunteer Association, New Mission High School, CRA International, Charlestown Boys and Girls Club, Roslindale Wetlands Task Force, Reed Business, Intuit, Cities Unite, and Northeastern University. Get your group involved in creating a healthier, more sustainable Boston today!

You are also invited to register to receive via email our calendar of events, which offers opportunities to experience the natural world that exists in Boston through nature walks, volunteer learn-and-serve work sessions, and other events. EarthWorks sends out no more than 12 announcements per year.
